With His help

Some shocking news came our way today. Eva (my step-mom) apparently had a stroke last night / this morning. According to Dad, it began last night, when she seemed to need to concentrate more than usual on things. Today at work, she could not explain to a coworker how to use the cash register. Someone took her to the doctor, and the doctor sent her to the hospital, and an MRI was ordered. She has "several" tumors on her brain, which are inoperable. At this point, she has no strength in her arms and is having trouble sitting up on her own. She will be kept overnight, but after that, we just don't know yet.

As we were preparing to leave for a vacation to Washington, DC tomorrow, we now need some guidance. However, I know He has us in His hands. As I sit here, I am watching a beautiful sunset with huge puffy pink and white clouds. The temperature, which has been stiflingly hot the last few days, is just delightful right now. I can hear the cicadas, and am just beginning to see the soft glow of the lightning bugs. And my final sight as I went in for the night: one single star.
